Registration
Although attendance at our events is free of charge, it would be helpful if you could let us know if, once having registered, you should be unable to attend on the day. This allows us to adjust our catering numbers and allocate your place to someone else if the event is oversubscribed.
Cancellation/change to event by Nexxus
Should any substantial changes to the event eg a change of venue, a change of date or time or indeed cancellation or postponement of the event become necessary, we will endeavour to advise you by email as soon as possible to minimise inconvenience. We cannot however accept responsibility for any non-delivery of email to the email address you supplied on registration, nor for your failure to access our email before you set off to travel to the event.
In the event of last minute difficulties being experienced by any of the original speakers at a Nexxus event, Nexxus reserves the right to substitute appropriate other speakers, without notifying delegates unless it is felt this would materially alter the attraction of, or content of, the event.
What do we do with the details you supply us with on registering?
The details you supply us with when registering for an event are used to communicate any substantial changes to the event to you (see Cancellation/change to event by Nexxus above) and to form a delegate list for the event which is distributed to attendees on the day. The delegates' list issued contains only the names, organisation and up to four keywords (where these have been supplied) for each delegate and its circulation is intended to allow delegates to identify other delegates with whom they may wish to talk or be introduced to where possible. Delegate's email addresses are not made available on the delegates list.
Information may also be used for internal market research purposes eg to determine percentage of academics versus industry or NHS attendees at different types of events.
All information is held securely and in accordance with the Data Protection Act 1998.
Subscribing to Nexxus e-bulletin and/or newsletter
At time of registering for any of our events, you will be offered the opportunity to subscribe to our mailing list to receive a variety of communications from us. This is entirely voluntary and is not obligatory to attend the event. Please note that should you already be on our mailing list, there is no need to complete subscription details again, unless your contact details have changed or you do not appear to have received any communications from us for a while. Otherwise this facility is really only there for those who are new to Nexxus. See also section 3 below.
2) External Events
Life science related events at home and abroad are listed on the Nexxus website as a result of either the event coming to the attention of Nexxus staff or a request from the organisers to assist in the promotion of their event. All events are selected after consideration of their likely interest and relevance to visitors to the Nexxus website.
External events are listed in good faith and for information purposes only but it should be noted that Nexxus accepts no liability for the validity or otherwise of the information provided by these external parties. Nexxus cannot and does not vouch for the quality or organisation of any of these events nor does the inclusion of any such events on the Nexxus website constitute an endorsement of them in any way. Should you have a complaint about the organisation, content or communication about any of these external events, this should be taken up with the company concerned and not Nexxus.
Nexxus reserve the right not to include an event's details in the website listing where this is not deemed to be appropriate.
3) Subscribing to free Nexxus e-bulletins, event reminders, ad-hoc communications and quarterly newsletter
Subscribing
Subscription to the above is available from the sign-up section of our website and also offered as an option to those registering for Nexxus events. Subscribing to our free communications is entirely voluntary on your part and you may opt to subscribe to only some or all of these, and in hard copy or in electronic format where this option is available.
Unsubscribing/changing details
Should your contact details change at any point or you no longer wish to receive our communications or wish these in a different format (eg electronically whereas you previously received a hard copy), you should email info@nexxusscotland.com with either "Unsubscribe" or "Change of details" in the subject line. Upon receipt we will change/remove your details at the earliest opportunity. At busy times of the year however, it is possible that you may still receive a few communications from us before your details are amended on our system and we would ask for your forbearance in this matter.
What do we do with the details you supply us with on subscribing?
The details you provide us with on registering are entered on our database for the purposes of sending you the communications you have requested. We may also on occasion contact you direct if we wish to draw your attention to something which we feel may be of particular interest to you or to perhaps explore with you whether you might be interested in speaking at or sponsoring one of our events. We do not provide details of those on our mailing list to anyone else for purposes of mass mailing or personal contact. Should someone approach Nexxus with a view to contacting you, we would contact you ourselves and either supply the enquirers contact details to you so you may follow-up or not as you prefer, or ask your permission to pass your details on to the third party. This would obviously not apply if you had already indicated to one of the Nexxus staff at some point that you had no objection to your details being passed to third parties.
Information may also be used for internal market research purposes eg to determine percentage of academics versus industry or NHS attendees who have signed up for our communications.
All information is held securely and in accordance with the Data Protection Act 1998.
