The Importance of Intellectual Assets to Life Science Based Companies
Valuable intellectual assets in life science based companies are not just patents. There are other sources of intellectual assets that can be just as valuable. Such sources of value can include trademarks, copyright, trade secrets and customer relationships etc. There are many examples of life science based businesses who have developed these types of assets and gained business success with and through them.
This interactive presentation will discuss a number of companies in the industry and the assets that helped to build them. Examples will include the development of GIBCO, Applied Biosytems, Upstate Discovery, Invitrogen, Qiagen and others.
Through these examples, the presentation aims to help new life science businesses consider, develop and protect those non patent areas that are of critical value.
This seminar will be delivered by Dr Frank Rinaldi, Director of Evolution Life Science Ltd and also talking about the Intellectual Asset Centre (IAC) is Jane Watters, Business Services Manager, IAC.
Prior to the presentation at 12.30 pm, there will be a sandwich buffet and tea and coffee from 12pm. After the presentation there will be an opportunity to ask questions/network between 1.30 - 2 pm
