Winners of the 2011 East Awards were presented with their Awards on 3 November 2011 at the Playfair Library in Edinburgh attended by guests from across the life science community. The winners were:
- Lifetime Achievement - Professor Sir John Savill*, University of Edinburgh and Medical Research Council
- Innovation - Advanced Pest Solutions for their Smidge that Midge insect repellent
- Collaboration (Sponsored by Edinburgh Science Triangle) - Holoxica for their collaborations with scientists in universities and medical institutes worldwide
- Young Life Scientist of the Year - Dr Sarah Reece, University of Edinburgh
- Most Promising Young Life Science Company of the Year - Deliverics

The 2011 West Life Science Awards were presented at a celebratory event on 16 November 2011 in the Auditorium, Oran Mor, Glasgow attended by guests from academia, industry and the NHS. The winners were :-
- Lifetime Achievement - Professor Colin Suckling, University of Strathclyde
- Innovation - The Glasgow School of Art for their Envision project
- Young Life Scientist of the Year - Dr Katie Hampson, University of Glasgow
- Most Promising Young Life Science Company of the Year - MGB Biopharma, Glasgow
