Annual Nexxus Life Science Awards

The Nexxus Life Science Awards were established for a number of reasons :-

  • To celebrate life science research excellence, the continued investments being made in creating world class research facilities and successful company growth in - originally - the West of Scotland and now, since the setting up of a second Nexxus network hub in Edinburgh - the East of Scotland also
  • To recognise the contribution of life sciences to the West and East of Scotland in terms of direct and indirect economic benefit to the area; resultant improvements in the health of the nation; the enhancement of the area's international reputation and its regeneration through growth of the high tech life science sector
  • To encourage the life sciences sector to be all it can be in the future

The first Nexxus Life Science Awards were made in 2005 and such was the response that Nexxus has presented these awards on an annual basis ever since to celebrate life science in the West of Scotland.   Now, in 2009 with the setting up of a second Nexxus network hub in Edinburgh, two awards will be made in each category - one in respect of the West of Scotland and one in respect of the East of Scotland.   Awards are made in four categories with, this year, an additional award being offered in respect of successful collaboration by the Edinburgh Science Triangle (NB only open to organisations based in East of Scotland/Edinburgh city Region).  Click on each category below for more details and also for entry forms for the West and East of Scotland 2009 Awards which close on 4 September 2009.
