ITI Life Sciences to sponsor Nexxus Life Science Innovation Award (News Story 10 June 2008)
This week sees the launch of the 4th Annual Nexxus Life Science Awards to celebrate the West of Scotland's expertise and the considerable contribution it makes to this burgeoning sector of the Scottish economy. There are four categories of Awards and this year the Innovation Award is being sponsored by ITI Life Sciences.

Things are hotting up for the 4th Annual Nexxus Life Science Awards. The shortlisting of candidates is now complete and Nexxus, the West of Scotland BioScience Network, is pleased to announce that the East Kilbride based Mentholatum Company, perhaps best known for its "Deep Heat" range of products, is stepping up to sponsor the 2008 Lifetime Achievement Award.
Annual Nexxus Life Science Awards
The purpose of the Nexxus Life Science Awards is threefold :-
- To celebrate life science research excellence, the continued investments being made in creating world class research facilities and successful company growth in the West of Scotland
- To recognise the contribution of life sciences to the West of Scotland in terms of direct and indirect economic benefit to the area; resultant improvements in the health of the nation; the enhancement of the area's international reputation and its regeneration through growth of the high tech life science sector
- To encourage the life sciences sector to be all it can be in the future
The first Nexxus Life Science Awards were made in 2005 and such was the response that Nexxus intend to present these awards on an annual basis. Awards are made in four categories (click on each category below for more details and also for entry forms for the 2008 Awards which close on 5 September 2008) :
- Lifetime Achievement Award (2008 Award sponsored by The Mentholatum Company)
- Innovation Award (2008 Award sponsored by ITI Life Sciences)
- Most Promising Young Life Science Company of the Year
- Young Life Scientist of the Year
