Nexxus - Scotland's network for life scientists - connects, communicates and informs life sciences in Scotland.

Nexxus was officially launched at the Glasgow Science Centre on 24 September 2003 to provide a connection (a "nexus") across all elements of the West of Scotland life science community.   In 2008 the organisation Isecured funding to continue its activities in the West and also, in partnership with the Edinburgh Science Triangle, to establish a second network hub in Edinburgh.  Nexxus provides a forum for interaction and collaboration, allowing the businesses and organisations it represents to develop linkages, improve sustainability and build critical mass.

Nexxus is the focal point for life science networking activity across Scotland. In addition, it promotes the strengths of the region within the media, the Scottish Parliament and in the wider business, public and academic communities. Nexxus acts as a facilitator to encourage communication and rapid transfer of knowledge between organisations involved in life science and related activities in Scotland and raises the profile locally and nationally of Scotland as a life science centre.

Nexxus also works with other regional and national organisations to deliver networking events and raise the profile of Scottish Life Science excellence.
